A Disaster Management Mock-Drill program was conducted with the support of OSDMA, Bhubaneswar, and the District Administration, Nayagarh, at seven Multi-Purpose Flood Shelters in Badapandusara, Kantilo, Natugaon, Madhapur, Karabara, Hanumanataprasad, and Kaliapalli, all located in Nayagarh District. The program included comprehensive training sessions for the effective management and operation of these shelters. Key training activities included: Disaster Management (DM), Community-Based Disaster Preparedness (CBDP), Shelter Management, and Documentation for Management Committee members (4 days). Disaster Management, CBDP, and Task Force Training (5 days). Disaster Management, CBDP, and First Aid Training for First Aid Task Force members (2 days). These programs are organized annually, with mock drills conducted at each shelter every year on June 19th. The initiative focuses on empowering communities to respond effectively to disasters, ensuring safety and preparedness through practical training and structured management practices.
